Tamworth, the home of Country Music and the home of Music for McGrath!

It’s the Country Music Capital of Australia so it only makes sense that Tamworth is also the home of the annual Music for McGrath concert championed by Carolyn and Vaughan!

Inspired by her cousin Anni’s breast cancer experience, each year Carolyn and her friend Vaughan rally a star-studded line-up, this year including Aleyce Simmonds, Shane Nicholson and Adam Harvey, for a night of country music. Since their first event, the Tamworth community have helped to raise over $200,000 to ensure that more Australian families receive the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse. But for Carolyn it’s more than simply a night of great music, it’s personal.

“Anni was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. She fought it but eventually it metastasised, and she passed away in October 2021. This event helps me feel connected to her still” shares Carolyn.

The McGrath Foundation currently funds 193 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, across Australia, who have provided care and support to over 118,000 families since 2005. There is so much more we need to do to ensure that every family going through breast cancer has access to a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

When you turn pink like Tamworth, you’ll be helping the McGrath Foundation reach our goal of 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses by 2025, a major milestone in our mission of ensuring that no one misses out on care.
