Meet the McGrath Foundation team!

The McGrath Foundation team is dedicated to its mission of ensuring that a McGrath Breast Care Nurse is available to anyone experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support.  Together, we are making a difference.

Our board

Following a personal experience with breast cancer, Jane and Glenn McGrath launched the McGrath Foundation in 2005 to do what they could to help families going through breast cancer. 

Leveraging Glenn’s profile as an international cricketer and learning from Jane’s personal experience, the Foundation was established to place breast care nurses across the country. Upon Jane’s passing in 2008, Glenn became Chairman and played an integral role in both managing the Board and engaging the community behind the Foundation’s activities. 

In September 2013 Glenn assumed the role of President of the Board.  In this role, Glenn is committed to upholding the vision of the Foundation and representing the Foundation through major initiatives.  

Glenn participates on probono basis and donates his time spent on Foundation business. 

John is Chairman of the McGrath Foundation Board and has extensive board level experience across public, private and not-for-profit organisations.

John is also the Chairman of Cooper Energy Limited, President of the (Commonwealth) Remuneration Tribunal and Deputy Chairman of Whitehaven Coal Limited. He is a Director of Dexus and a Member of the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority.

John has been a pro-bono Director of the McGrath Foundation since 2012 and Chairman since September 2013.

Terry Brown has been a practising lawyer for over 35 years and is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Notaries. As a friend and professional advisor to the McGrath family, Terry was a co-founder of the Foundation. Terry also co-founded the Belle Property Group and presently sits on several Advisory Boards. He is Joint Managing Director of Tax Assure Pty Ltd.  

Terry has been a pro-bono Director of the McGrath Foundation since August 2005.

Tracy helped set up the McGrath Foundation in 2005. As a Director and member of the staff of the McGrath Foundation, Tracy spends her time engaging and connecting with the community to raise awareness about the vital role the McGrath Foundation plays in funding McGrath Breast Care Nurses in the community.  

Tracy was nominated for Australian of the Year in 2012 and again in 2017. She has been an Australia Day Ambassador since 2014 and was the 2018 winner of the Judges’ Choice Collaborator Award at the Pro Bono Impact Awards.  

Tracy has been a Director of the McGrath Foundation since December 2008. 

Glenys has had an extensive career in the Australian Public Service at senior levels with responsibility for several significant government programs covering economic and social policy areas.  

Most recently Glenys was Secretary of the Australian Government Department of Health from 18 September 2017 to 28 February 2020, when she retired from the Australian Public Service.  

In 2010 Glenys was awarded a Public Service Medal for coordinating Australian Government support during the 2009 Victorian bushfires. 

Glenys has been a pro-bono Director of the McGrath Foundation since June 2020.

Christine is a professional company director and a Non-Executive Director on three ASX listed boards, CSR Ltd, Blackmores Ltd and Collins Foods and one Federal Government Enterprise, The Moorebank Intermodal Company. 

In line with her passion for cricket, preserving the history and heritage of the game, and our country, Christine also sits on the Boards of The Bradman Foundation, the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2020 and the State Library of NSW Foundation. 

Christine has been a pro-bono Director of the McGrath Foundation since July 2020.

Our leadership team

Holly Masters is Chief Executive Officer of the McGrath Foundation. She is responsible for leading the organisation to deliver on its Mission of ensuring every person experiencing breast cancer has access to the free support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse, wherever they live in Australia.

Holly has a wealth of experience building and developing brands globally across the FMCG, retail, beauty, media and telecommunications sectors. Before joining the Foundation, she worked for Estée Lauder Companies where she held a variety of roles over 12 years including Vice President General Manager of Clinique Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

Previously, Holly led brands including Jo Malone London, La Mer and Molton Brown across Australia and co-founded mission21, a marketing and communications agency in London.

Today Holly manages a team of skilled professionals at the McGrath Foundation who are focused on helping individuals and families through breast cancer. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of Chief Executive Women and Chair of the Leaders for IMPACT Network: Greater Sydney Hub.

Holly is passionate about building strong and collaborative partnerships, enjoying life to the full and making the most of every moment.

Jane joined the McGrath Foundation as HR Director in 2010; after spending the previous 18 years working in human resources throughout many countries; including Singapore, China, England and Australia.

Jane has lent her skills and expertise to many facets of the Foundation including the role of Chief Operating Officer. Since November 2014, Jane has been Mission Programmes Director, overseeing the McGrath Breast Care Nurse Program and evolving the Foundation’s breast education and awareness programs.

Ryan is an experienced marketing leader, spending nearly 2 decades leading national marketing campaigns for some of the most loved and iconic brands in Australia including Qantas, Telstra and Surf Life Saving. He brings to the McGrath Foundation extensive strategic capabilities and creative experience across communications, partnerships, sales and revenue generation.

Ryan joined the McGrath Foundation in September of 2017, as Marketing and Revenue Director, to lead the Foundation’s fundraising and marketing activities.

As a Chartered Accountant, Michael commenced his career with KPMG Dublin working with the Manufacturing & Financial Services divisions before moving to Australia in 2006. Michael’s experience in a variety of industries, including ASX listed businesses within Banking, Distribution, and Wealth Management, brought a breadth of experience to his role as Financial Controller at the McGrath Foundation in 2017. Michael has since expanded his position to Finance Director in 2018 in addition to performing the Company Secretarial duties for the Foundation.

Our nurses

Our 185 McGrath Breast Care Nurses are the heart and soul of our organisation. McGrath Breast Care Nurses are an essential part of the complex team providing care to people with breast cancer.
