Glenn McGrath Extends Gratitude as Community Unites in Pink on the 16th Annual Jane McGrath Day

As the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground transforms into a sea of pink for the 16th annual Jane McGrath Day at the NRMA Insurance Pink Test, cricket fans and communities around the country are set to unite in pink with a goal of raising a record-breaking figure for the McGrath Foundation.

Having set its most ambitious goal yet of selling 322,000 Virtual Pink Seats to fund 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses this year, the McGrath Foundation is calling on support from across the country to reach the target.

Joining forces with the Pink Test volunteers at the SCG, McGrath Foundation Co-Founder & President Glenn McGrath thanked the country for uniting in support of Jane McGrath Day.

“I’m proud to be here on the 16th Jane McGrath Day coming together with the cricket family, our wonderful volunteers, and the wider community in a show of support for those around us that are going through breast cancer.

“Seeing how the community has come together to unite in pink has been incredibly special. We have set an ambitious target to reach our goal of funding 250 McGrath Breast Care nurses this year and we have been blown away by the support of the Australian public. It’s our mission to ensure that no one with breast cancer misses out on the care of a breast care nurse and with your help, we are getting very close to making that a reality,” he said.

McGrath Foundation Ambassador & Director Tracy Bevan said it was fantastic to see the community together at the SCG uniting for those experiencing breast cancer.

“To witness the sea of pink each year, while seeing everyone come together for such an important cause, is truly heartwarming. Jane would be proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I am grateful for the continued support from every corner of our nation. The unity and compassion shown by Australians is a testament to Jane’s enduring legacy and what an incredible person she was.

“The Virtual Pink Seats have become a special way to honour those around us who have or who are going through breast cancer. Seeing the messages of love and support flooding in with every Virtual Pink Seat shared shows how our communities are uniting in pink for families impacted by breast cancer.”

Since 2009 Jane McGrath Day has come to represent an emblem of hope where people across the country unite in pink to support the 57 people diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every day, while raising funds for McGrath Breast Care Nurses, who are an integral part of Jane’s greatest legacy.

Fans are encouraged to help the Foundation fund 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses by purchasing Virtual Pink Seats for $20 each at pinktest.com.au and sharing alongside their stories on socials. Those attending at the SCG can also make a donation to receive a limited-edition Pink Test bandana.
