The Summer of Cricket
Cricket has always had a way of bringing people together.
And each summer, communities across Australia use their love of the game to help make a difference for people experiencing cancer.
It starts at grassroots cricket clubs through Pink Stumps Day and builds towards one of the biggest moments on our calendar, the NRMA Insurance Pink Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

For Glenn McGrath, it’s a powerful example of what can happen when cricket and a greater purpose come together.
“I love Pink Stumps Day and what it stands for,” Glenn says. “To me, Pink Stumps Day is about bringing a little bit of the Pink Test… to your local community.”
Crib Point Cricket Club in Victoria knows that feeling well. The club has hosted five Pink Stumps Days, bringing players, families, supporters and local businesses together behind the cause.

“Pink Stumps Day for our club is a bit of a celebration,” Club President Ricky says. “The club and the community have embraced it and taken it with both hands.”
For Ricky, the impact is felt across the whole club.
“You notice how many people care about the club and about what we do.”
And that care reaches much further than the cricket ground. Funds raised through Pink Stumps Day and the Pink Test help us place McGrath Cancer Care Nurses in communities across Australia, providing free, expert care to people and families experiencing cancer.

As Glenn says, it’s about “people coming together to play a sport they love, but also to raise funds for a cause that’s really close to my heart.”
This summer, from local cricket clubs to the SCG, every pink moment can help us take care further.
Every run, every wicket and every dollar raised helps take care further.
Register your Pink Stumps Day and help fund more McGrath Cancer Care Nurses for people and families experiencing cancer.
