The Echuca region and surrounding districts have received a boost in cancer nursing care with the appointment of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.
Paige Cullin, specialising in supporting people and their families experiencing haematological cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Paige’s appointment expands the McGrath Foundation’s specialised cancer nursing support in the region, improving access to expert care closer to home for people navigating often complex and ongoing blood cancer treatment. Paige joins one other Echuca-based McGrath Cancer Care Nurse who provides specialist support to people experiencing breast cancer.
With around 1 in 2 people diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and over 170,000 people diagnosed with cancer in Australia this year, there is a substantial need for specialist cancer care provided by McGrath Cancer Care Nurses to support people across Australia with any type of cancer.

Paige Cullin, based at Echuca Regional Health, said:
“My passion for cancer nursing was shaped by my own family’s experience with a haematological cancer when I was a young adult. Watching my brother navigate his treatment highlighted how important supportive care and access to services can be, not only for patients, but for their families as well."

There are currently 423 McGrath Cancer Care Nurses across Australia, and 88 supporting people with cancer throughout Victoria.
