Government Announces Expansion of McGrath Cancer Care Nurses to Prostate Cancer

The Australian Government has announced funding to expand the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse service to include dedicated support for men with prostate cancer from 1 July 2027.
Prostate cancer represents around a third of all male cancer diagnoses, with more than 28,000 men in Australia estimated to be diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2025. The expansion will see prostate cancer nurses join the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse network, which supports people experiencing a wide range of cancers across Australia.
