A Record-Breaking Pink Test to Reach more Families in Need
Together, we did it!
At the 18th NRMA Insurance Pink Test the Australian community came together in an extraordinary way raising an incredible $12 million and proving just how powerful we are when we stand side by side.
Across five unforgettable days at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia retained the Ashes, Usman Khawaja farewelled Test cricket, and the energy around the ground reminded us that this was about so much more than the scorecard.
The cricket brought us together, and a shared commitment to care and community filled the SCG with purpose. A sea of pink in the stands became a powerful show of support. Whether there in person or watching from around the country, people donated generously to honour loved ones, stand in solidarity, or say thank you to a nurse who stood beside them.
This Pink Test also marked 12 months since we announced the expansion of our care beyond breast cancer, with our McGrath Cancer Care Nurses now supporting people with any type of cancer.
As the SCG was transformed in a sea of pink, it was a powerful reminder of the future we are working towards, one where everyone has access to free, expert cancer nursing care, no matter where they live or what cancer they are facing.
Kirby, who has been supported by a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse through her breast cancer experience, shared:
“As a long-time cricket fan, it’s a dream to be at the Pink Test. I felt so privileged to experience the atmosphere and be part of something so special.”
That is the magic of the Pink Test. Not just the funds raised or the milestones marked, but the shared understanding of why we are all there and the collective commitment to stand beside people through cancer.
For five days, cricket brings us together to show what care, compassion and community truly look like. And that is something we carry with us long after the final ball is bowled.
