Our recruitment process

Our recruitment process is designed to be personable and engaging. Our objective is to simply learn more about you, your experience, and career motivations to ensure the right fit between you and the McGrath Foundation.

Inclusion is important to us at every stage of the process. Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements or adjustments needed to present yourself effectively throughout the process.

As an organisation, we are committed to responding to every application regardless of the outcome. Below is an outline of our standard recruitment process. From time to time this can be subject to change depending on specific requirements of different roles.

Submitting your application

When a position becomes available, it will be listed on our website and other job platforms. If you believe you have the skills and attributes for the role, we encourage you to submit an application. Please include the following information:

  •  A current copy of your CV
  •  A cover letter outlining your interest in the opportunity and/or working for the McGrath Foundation.

Once your application is received, you will receive a confirmation email from Employment Hero, our recruitment platform. We recommend you apply as soon as possible, as interviews may begin during the advertising period.

Screening, Assessment and Interviews

During the process, we will contact candidates to conduct an introductory call. The purpose of the call is to learn more about you, your interest in the role, and provide additional information about the position.

Once we are aligned, you will be invited to an interview with the People and Culture Team and hiring manager. Remember, interviews are a two-way process, so we encourage you to come prepared with questions for us.

From time to time, we will conduct second round interviews. Generally speaking, the second interview is more casual and an opportunity to see the office and meet other team members.

Background Checks

Should you be successful through the interview process, we will contact you about conducting reference checks. We require two references from previous managers you have reported to, their contact details can be provided on request.

Additionally, we will ask you to complete an updated police check.

Offer and Onboarding

At this stage, a team member will get in touch to offer you the position at the McGrath Foundation. You will receive key documents, including an offer letter, contract, job description, and Fair Work Statement. You will also be given access to our talent management system to upload relevant employment information, such as your bank and superannuation details.

During onboarding, you will have the opportunity to meet different teams, learn about the organisation, and receive training for your specific responsibilities and duties to ensure your success.
