The McGrath Foundation
in your community
From time to time, you may see people in your community raising funds for the McGrath Foundation.
Identifying a fundraiser
McGrath Foundation fundraisers will be wearing bright pink McGrath Foundation tops and caps. The logo will be visible on their top, as well as on their ID, which will be around their neck on a McGrath Foundation lanyard, with their photo, name and ID number.
Face-to-face fundraisers are different to people who volunteer at community events. They can’t accept cash or cheques; they can only ask for regular monthly donations via a credit card or direct debit. If you’d like to make a one-off gift, you can do that here.
The McGrath Foundation in your street
Our McGrath Breast Care Nurses are needed now, more than ever, to ensure that people experiencing breast cancer can continue to receive the vital care and support they need. Unfortunately, COVID-19 is unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s impacting everyone and, like much of the not-for-profit sector, our fundraising has been impacted. At this difficult time, ongoing support is needed to ensure we can continue to fund our McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia
As our Foundation grows, we’re engaging with more and more people across Australia to share the work our McGrath Breast Care Nurses do to help make life that little bit easier for families experiencing breast cancer. We’re knocking on doors around the country to have a chat and ask people to make a regular monthly donation to help us continue to fund these specialist nurses in communities where they’re needed.
A regular monthly donation helps us fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia today and in the future. It is our vision that every family experiencing breast cancer in Australia has access to the support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.
The McGrath Foundation is a member of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) which means we comply with strict regulations about fundraising practices. You can read about them here.

FAQs
It’s a challenging time but people are still being diagnosed with breast cancer and there is still a need for McGrath Breast Care Nurses, so we still need to fundraise. Our fundraisers are following all the health advice from the government and we’ve increased our hygiene practices such as wiping down iPads before and after each interaction, not shaking hands and following the social distancing guidelines.
Our fundraisers have a COVID safe plan in place and have undertaken COVID safe training. Our fundraisers are following social distancing guidelines and are staying 1.5 metres away from people at all times. Our fundraisers have implemented extra hygiene practices including using hand sanitizers before and after each encounter and wiping down equipment with antibacterial wipes. In some instances, you may be able to sign up using your phone, which means there’s no need to touch anything. Our fundraisers are also carrying protective equipment, including face masks or face shields, with them to use if required.
Our face-to-face fundraising is only done in residential areas.
This form of fundraising only involves signing people up to give a regular amount each month via a credit or debit card. Cash donations are not permitted.
Cash donations can only be collected by people who are volunteers and have been granted permission by the Foundation to do so, at events organised within the community, school, workplace or sports team.
Please call our Donations team (Monday – Friday) on 02 8962 6100 or email enquiries@mcgrathfoundation.com.au
