While it’s always been an American tradition, you might have noticed the Black Friday sales creeping into Australian stores. With the sales weekend wrapping up, and the festive season ahead of us, now is a great time to reflect on how you can give back.
That’s where Giving Tuesday originated from – since 2012, Giving Tuesday has been recognised as a global day of giving after a weekend where you’ve shopped until you dropped.
Giving Tuesday this year falls on 28th November, and is a chance to celebrate and give to charity before the festive season begins.
You can show your support for the McGrath Foundation this Giving Tuesday in a number of ways:
Host an event – with the silly season right on our doorstep, now is a great time to turn your Christmas party into a fundraiser.
Volunteer your time – your time is so valuable to us, and we need you more than ever at the Pink Test in January. Come celebrate 10 years of the Pink Test with us at the SCG!
Make a donation – Any donation you make to the McGrath Foundation will help us provide the support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse to families free of charge.
Remember all donations above $2 are tax deductible.
If you do decide to give this Giving Tuesday, be sure to share the love and join the global movement by using the hashtags #mcgrathfoundation and #givingtuesday.
