Sydney-based waste management company and McGrath Foundation corporate partner, Bingo Industries, has donated $151,000 to the McGrath Foundation on the back of a successful fundraising evening, ‘Paradise Garden 2016’ in early June this year.
The McGrath Foundation’s partnership with Bingo Industries developed from a very personal cancer connection within the family-owned and run business.
Bingo Industries CEO, Daniel Tartak, lost his aunt Rose to breast cancer in March 2014. Then, three months later, Daniel’s aunt Mary died from lung cancer.
In November 2014, Bingo Industries hosted a fundraising dinner event ‘Magical Memories’ in honour of Rose and Mary. The event was an emotional and beautiful tribute that saw McGrath Foundation’s Co-Founder & President, Glenn McGrath, and CEO of Cancer Council NSW, Jim L’Estrange, attend and speak as special guests on behalf of their respective charities. Bingo Industries raised $144,000 that was equally shared between the two charities.
Commenting on the success of ‘Paradise Garden 2016’ that saw $302,000 again split evenly between the McGrath Foundation and Cancer Council NSW, Daniel Tartak, said: ‘This year we wanted to put on a show of a lifetime, something they will never forget!’
‘Paradise Garden 2016’ saw surprise entertainment from Guy Sebastian and an aerial acrobatic performance, as well as a return from special guests and speakers on the evening, Glenn McGrath and Peter Taylor.
Daniel shared a heartfelt message to supporters at the event.
‘These foundations have helped countless families in their time of anguish by restoring a better quality of life to those affected,’ he said. ‘It’s nice to be rest assured these organisations exist and are actively doing what they can to beat cancer.’

This week, McGrath Foundation CEO, Petra Buchanan visited Bingo Industries at their head office in Western Sydney and was presented with a cheque of $151,000.
‘The McGrath Foundation is sincerely grateful to Bingo Industries for their continued support,’ said Buchanan.
‘Through corporate partnerships like this we’re able to continue to fund a vital service to communities across Australia through our 110 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, who have helped 47,000 families experiencing breast cancer to date.’
Since becoming a corporate partner in August 2014, Bingo Industries has raised more than $250,000 for the McGrath Foundation.
