Community cricket clubs stump up for the McGrath Foundation

Cricket fields across Australia were awash with pink in February as more than 650 cricket clubs participated in the inaugural Pink Stumps Day, our community cricket fundraising initiative supported by Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW.
In return for fundraising for us, registered clubs received a Pink Stumps Day Team Kit valued at over $500 and went into the draw to have an Australian cricket legend visit their Pink Stumps Day. Congratulations to the following lucky clubs, who each had a legend in their midst to help them celebrate and pass on some cricket tips: Swan Hill RSL Cricket Club (VIC), Dalyellup Beach Cricket Club (WA), Nightcliff Cricket Club (NT), Caloundra Cricket Club (QLD), Tintenbar East Ballina Cricket Club (NSW), St George Leagues Cricket Club (NSW). A huge thank you to our cricket legends – Glenn McGrath, Adam Gilchrist, Greg Matthews, Mike Kasprowiscz, Nathan Bracken, Josh Hazelwood and Simon Katich – for being great sports on the day.
Thank you so much to each and every club that took part in Pink Stumps Day and brought their local community together for a fun day of cricket. We’re thrilled with how enthusiastically clubs have embraced the first ever Pink Stumps Day and we’re very proud of their extraordinary fundraising efforts, with some clubs raising $5,000 and $10,000 thanks to the support of their communities!
A big thank you also to Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW for supporting Pink Stumps Day, Sommers Cricket for providing the fantastic Pink Stumps Day team kits, and to our wonderful volunteers who helped pack the kits.
If you haven’t already, check out our Facebook page to see photos from Pink Stumps Day events around the country – by the looks of it, pink really does make everything more fun!
