McGrath Foundation kicks up its pink heels at the Golden Slipper Lunch

Wednesday, 07 April 2010 15:50

ln_mcgrath_lunchHeld on Myer Ladies’ Day as part of the Golden Slipper Festival, the second annual McGrath Foundation Lunch was a great success, with guests enjoying a fabulous view of the track and lunch in the Grand Pavilion at Rosehill. Special guests included Foundation Chairman, Glenn McGrath; his former Australian teammate, Michael Bevan; Manly Sea Eagles star, David “Wolfman” Williams; and Sydney Turf Club ambassador and Miss Universe Australia, Rachael Finch.

Throughout the day, guests were entertained by our MC Cameron Knight, the very talented Angel Tupai from the Talent Development Project, a silent auction, a raffle, and of course the races!

Our volunteers did an excellent job selling raffle tickets and special McGrath Foundation pink rose corsages throughout the course, so a big thanks to everyone who helped out on the day, especially Sydney Turf Club and our generous sponsors. We couldn’t have raised the $40,000 that we did without you.

Several McGrath Breast Care Nurses attended the lunch, which fell on the weekend following the 12th National Breast Care Nurse Conference. Thanks for coming, ladies – we hope you enjoyed yourselves!
