51,000 reasons to back the pink dog! $51,000 raised from the Go the Pink Dog! campaign for the McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation will receive $51,000 courtesy of the ‘Go The Pink Dog!' campaign, which ran throughout February.

Every time a greyhound wearing the pink number 8 rug won a Victorian greyhound race during February, Greyhound Racing Victoria and Tabcorp donated $500 towards the McGrath Foundation.

Last night's Geelong greyhound race meeting was the last of the campaign, and it produced four pink number 8 winners on the night, taking the monthly total up to 102.

Executive Director of the McGrath Foundation, Tracy Bevan, was thrilled by the overall success of the Go the Pink Dog campaign.

"I'm just blown away that $51,000 has been raised from the Go the Pink Dog campaign.  The best part is that all the money raised will help fund additional McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia as well as reminding young women about the importance of breast awareness.

"With the pink dog winning 102 races, it just goes to show that next time you're at the track, go the pink dog!" said Tracy.
