The Perfect Chrismas Gift - the Gift That Keeps On Giving: Australia invited to participate in a sealed envelope auction to support the McGrath Foundation!
Friday, 20 November 2009 10:00Dreaming of strumming a hot pink Gibson guitar signed by the one and only pop starlet herself, P!nk? Wishing you could have your own exclusive box on Day 1 of the 3 mobile Sydney Test with your mates, with visits from cricketing legends Glenn McGrath and Michael Bevan? Ever imagined yourself riding the waves with world champion, Layne Beachley?
It's time to stop dreaming and start bidding for a worthy cause - the McGrath Foundation! Australia is invited to place sealed envelope bids on exclusive auction items to be made available at the McGrath Foundation Gala Dinner on Friday 4 December at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
Live auction items available for sealed envelope bids include:
- Signed by the one and only pop starlet herself, P!nk, a specially made Gibson hot pink guitar
- Pink your ride like Glenn McGrath and Tracy Bevan, with rare numeral only pink plates (numbered 15151 and licensed in NSW), generously donated by the RTA
- An exclusive box with catering for you and 19 friends on Day 1 of the 3 mobile Sydney Test, with visits from cricketing legends, Glenn McGrath, Michael Bevan and others
- A one-on-one surf lesson from seven-time world surfing champion, Layne Beachley, to ride her favourite breaks at Manly beach, with your own Layne Beachley signed surfboard and surfwear voucher for Layne's new range of surfwear, Blue Kiss (note: this prize may only be redeemed in the Sydney area)
- Have Masterchef winner, Julie Goodwin, host a dinner party for eight at your home (note: this prize may only be redeemed in the Sydney area)
Chairman of the McGrath Foundation, Glenn McGrath, said that limiting the bidding only to guests in the room just didn't seem right.
"People right across Australia have been so supportive of us and we wanted to give them the opportunity to participate as some of these auction prizes are once-in-a-life time opportunities.
"In particular, the P!nk signed Gibson guitar is a highlight. The guitar was specially made for the McGrath Foundation Gala Dinner auction and signed by P!nk on her recent tour. It's absolutely priceless - I know my daughter Holly wouldn't mind finding this in her Christmas stocking!
"Christmas is just around the corner, so this auction is the perfect time to find a unique gift for a loved one or even to treat yourself. Plus, these items truly are gifts that keep on giving, with all money raised from the auction coming back to the McGrath Foundation," said Glenn.
People wanting to place a sealed bid should click here to download the sealed envelope bid form, where they nominate which item to bid on and the maximum amount they would like to bid on that item.
At the McGrath Foundation Gala Dinner on December 4, live bidders in the room will be notified there is a sealed envelope bid for each item. At the end of the bidding, if the sealed envelope bid is higher than one on the room, the sealed envelope bidder is the winner.
