Running for the Cause – Blackmores Sydney Running Festival - Sydney, NSW

Wednesday, 14 October 2009 13:43

oct09_run.jpgOn the 20 September, over 200 runners laced up their running shoes, put on their best pink running gear and participated in the Blackmore’s Sydney Running Festival, helping raise over $55,000 for the McGrath Foundation.

Among them were two of Australia’s favourite Bondi Rescue Lifeguards, Andrew Reid and Corey Oliver, who raised almost $5000. “We were keen to help raise money because we work with boobs every day at the beach. We love boobs and we don’t want them to disappear! Seriously though, we couldn’t be prouder to do our bit to support this fantastic organisation,” said Andrew.

Participants also enjoyed visiting the McGrath Foundation tent in the Recovery Village where they were treated to foot massages, nudie fruit juices and some were even lucky enough to get a photo with the Foundation’s very own Glenn McGrath. Check out some of the photos on the McGrath Foundation Facebook Fan Page at www.facebook.com/mcgrathfoundation.

The McGrath Foundation would like to say a BIG thank you to all our runners, our fabulous volunteers and to everyone who stopped past on the day to make a donation, purchase merchandise or just to say hi!

We’d also like to welcome both Andrew and Corey as two of our latest Friends of the Foundation!
