Tickled Pink Charity Event – Adelaide, SA

jul09_tickled.jpgKate Gelastopoulos, Georgina Dontas, Marie Kartsoni, Renee Donyas and Louise Mann decided to host the Tickled Pink Charity Night after Kate and Georgina’s mother, and Marie’s aunty, Kay Gelastopoulos, lost her fight against breast cancer in November 2008.

Having been touched by breast cancer, the girls were determined to make a difference. Kate says “Having to look after mum was so difficult in so many ways - both emotionally and physically - and we felt if we’d had a specialist breast care nurse it would’ve taken away from some of the pressure.”

Held at The Pavilion at Adelaide Oval the night was a huge success. Over 360 people, including the Foundation’s very own Tracy Bevan, and Foundation Friend and Adelaide radio presenter Jodie Blewett, enjoyed a three course dinner, fabulous entertainment, a fashion parade and an auction of sporting memorabilia including a Lance Armstrong jersey.

All in all $32,000 was raised!  A big thank you to the Tickled Pink organising committee and all who attended – we look forward to seeing you at the next Adelaide event!
