McGrath Breast Care Nurse Update
Friday, 17 July 2009 10:44We’ve had another extremely busy, but exciting, quarter. Thanks to the $12 million grant received from the Australian Government in June 2008, 16 new McGrath Breast Care Nurses have joined the team, taking the number of McGrath Breast Care Nurses to 51 nationally.
Our new McGrath Breast Care Nurses are currently based in the following locations:
- NSW – Bathurst, Campbelltown, Mudgee, Shoalhaven;
- VIC – Ballarat, Geelong, Horsham;
- QLD – Brisbane, Cairns, Gympie, Mount Isa, Roma;
- SA – Port Augusta;
- WA – Albany;
- Tas – Hobart;
- ACT – Canberra; and
- NT – Darwin.
We are absolutely delighted to have them on board and we’d like to take this opportunity to welcome them to the McGrath Foundation Family.
To meet our newest McGrath Breast Care Nurses, check out the new interactive map on our website and find out more about the McGrath Breast Care Nurse in your community.
We’re also gearing up for another jam packed quarter with the placement of the final two McGrath Breast Care Nurses under the Government-funded program, as well as hosting our very first McGrath Breast Care Nurse Induction Workshop in August. Held in Sydney, we’re aiming to arm our nurses with useful tools and resources to help them in their roles. Hopefully, it will be an informative and fun experience for all!
Stay tuned for more news in the next issue.
Best wishes,
