Australia Day 2009 marks Third Annual Jane McGrath Classic

Sunday, 05 April 2009 09:00

Jock Athletic and the McGrath Foundation would like to say a BIG thank you to all those who came down to Cronulla Beach on Australia Day to take part in the 3rd Annual Jane McGrath Classic.

The day was a great success with 250 people taking part in the event, raising over $6500 for the Foundation, our biggest fundraising effort since the inception of the Jane McGrath classic.

As always, everyone was in high spirits, from those with prams and pets doing the walk event to the many contestants who competed in both the 3km walk and the 800m beach run.

The beach run final came down to the last 10 meters, with local Australian beach champ Michael Fox of Cronulla claiming first place honours, narrowly defeating veteran Glenn Gorick over the last sand hill.
