Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust Announces the Inaugural Jane McGrath Day

Thursday, 04 December 2008 10:00

While the relationship between Cricket Australia and the McGrath Foundation promises exciting things right across this summer of cricket, the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust have also come to the party declaring Day 3 of the SCG Test against South Africa – traditionally known as Ladies Day – to be renamed the Jane McGrath Day.

With the Members' "Village Green" to become the "Village Pink", a Ladies High Tea instead of a traditional lunch, and a massive pink McGrath Foundation banner covering the rear wall of the Ladies Stand, SCG Members attending Day 3 will literally be bowled over by the activity honoring Jane and the contribution she made not only to the cricketing family, but to the community as a whole through the work of the McGrath Foundation.

With fundraising activities built into various activities over the course of the day, it is hoped that everyone at the SCG will be given the opportunity to stop and reflect on what an extraordinary lady Jane was.

We hope to see as many of you there in the stands during the Test - all dressed in pink of course!
