Australia Continues to Show Support for the McGrath Foundation with Generous Donations in Excess of $1,000,000
The McGrath Foundation would like to sincerely thank the community for its heartfelt support following the sad passing of Founder - Jane McGrath, who passed away last Sunday (22nd June 2008).
As at 9am on Thursday, 3 July, the McGrath Foundation has received over $700,000 in donations by the public. In addition, the Premier of NSW, the Honourable Morris Iemma, has pledged a further $100,000 on behalf of the NSW Government, and the Premier of South Australia, the Honourable Mike Rann, has pledged $250,000 on behalf of the South Australian Government. As a result, total donations to date exceed $1,050,000.
The McGrath Foundation is committed to continuing Jane’s legacy by not only ensuring young women are encouraged to be breast aware but by also continuing to raise the valuable funds to support the placement of McGrath Breast Care Nurses throughout rural and regional Australia to help women diagnosed with breast cancer. It was Jane’s vision that all women seeking treatment for breast cancer should have access to a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

IT is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Jane McGrath, beloved wife of former Australian cricketer Glenn and loving mother of James and Holly, must announce she passed away at her home on Sunday morning 22 June 2008.
With Glenn and their two children by her side, Jane's wonderful life ended peacefully after a sudden decline in her health over the past week.
Jane, 42, had surgery earlier in the year and was recovering before complications set in.
Jane McGrath has left a lasting legacy through the McGrath Foundation, an organisation that is providing thousands of women hope - and support - in their fight against breast cancer.
Glenn McGrath has requested his privacy and that of his and Jane's family is respected at this very difficult time.
