McGrath Foundation kicks goals with Altrincham Football Club fundraiser

The McGrath Foundation traveled to England in late September to join fellow Australian and English football and cricket legends including Glenn McGrath, Michael Bevan, Alec Stuart and Bryan Robson to make up the Sporting Legends team for the charity football match hosted by Altrincham Football Club.
The Sporting Legends competed against the Celebrity All-Stars, made up of actors from the small screen including Michael Le Vell, Ryan Thomas, Jeff Brazier and other actors from Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Emmerdale Farm. The Sporting Legends prevailed, beating the Celebrity All-Stars after a penalty shootout with the final score at 5 to 4.
With 250 guests in attendance, celebrations continued at the Altrincham Gala Dinner, raising over £40,000 from ticket sales and a live auction. Money raised was split between the McGrath Foundation and Altrincham Football Club, with AU$50,000 donated to the McGrath Foundation.
The McGrath Foundation thanks Altrincham Football Club for their continued support and for all who participated to make the match and dinner a success.
