McGrath Foundation benefits from local ingenuity

McGrath Foundation benefits from local ingenuityYou can rely on the locals to support a good cause. With the main pitch for the weekend under water after 100mm of rain, two hugely different machines lined up to get the ground ready for play on Saturday morning. While the Cooroy cricket club's heavy roller worked its slow and steady magic, McDermott Aviation provided a Bell 205 helicopter to blow dry the pitch. Between them, the two machines had the ground ready for play on Saturday morning to the great relief of more than 100 desperate cricketers.

Players had the opportunity to win cricket gear supplied by Ozone Sports, cash prizes from Countryside Realty for sixes hit during the weekend, food provided by Hodges Bakehouse, Cooroy IGA, Richies Bakery and Cooroy Mountain Spring Water and other raffle prizes supplied by Lola G., Saya, Easy-cut concrete cutters, Espresso Mobile Cafe, Maroochydore, Sportspower and Joyce Ladley.

Following the weekend comp, the McGrath Foundation will receive over $4000 from Sunshine Coast cricketers, their families and sponsors.
